Andrew Gold : "Never Let Her Slip Away" lyrics

Andrew Gold - Never Let Her Slip Away
"Never Let Her Slip Away" lyrics
by Andrew Gold

I talked to my baby on the telephone
Long distance
I never would've guessed
I could miss someone so bad
I really only met her 'bout a week ago
But it doesn't seem to matter to my heart
I know that I love her
I'm hoping that I never recover
'Cause she's good for me
And it would really make me happy
To never let her slip away

I feel like a kid with a teenage crush
On a school date
I feel like the lead in "Romeo & Juliet"
I'm a little bit dizzy
I'm a little bit scared
I guess I never felt this much aware
That I'd love her
I'm hoping that I'll never recover
Cause she's good for me
And it would really make me happy
To never let her slip away

I really only met her 'bout a week ago
But it doesn't seem to matter to my heart
I know that I love her
I'm hoping that I never recover
'Cause she's good for me
And it would really make me happy
To never let her slip away

Mmmmmm I love her
I'm hoping that I never recover
'Cause she's good for me
And it would really make me happy
To never let her slip away
Oh I know it's gonna make me happy
To never let her slip away

"Never Let Her Slip Away" is a song written by Andrew Gold, who recorded it for his third album, All This and Heaven Too. The single reached #5 on the UK Singles Chart chart and #67 on theBillboard Hot 100 in 1978. Freddie Mercury, in an uncredited appearance, recorded sparse backing vocals with Gold, to support Gold's separately recorded lead vocal. Mercury's harmony vocals are low in the mix; he is most audible on the "on a school day afternoon" refrain. In 1992, Undercover also had a #5 UK hit with the song. (source: Wikipedia)

"Heaven is a Place on Earth" lyrics
by Belinda Carlisle

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth ?

Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

When the night falls down
I wait for you and you come around
And the world's alive
With the sound of kids on the street outside

When you walk into the room
You pull me close and we start to move
And we're spinnin' with the stars above
And you lift me up in a wave of love

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth ?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

When I feel alone
I reach for you and you bring me home
When I'm lost at sea
I hear your voice and it carries me

In this world we're just beginning
To understand the miracle of living
Baby, I was afraid before
I'm not afraid anymore

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

Heaven
Heaven
Heaven

In this world we're just beginning
To understand the miracle of living
Baby, I was afraid before
I'm not afraid anymore

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

"Marry Your Daughter" lyrics
by Brian McKnight

Sir, I'm a bit nervous
'Bout being here today
Still not real sure what I'm going to say
So bare with me please
If I take up too much of your time,
See in this box is a ring for your oldest
She’s my everything and all that I know is
It would be such a relief if I knew that we were on the same side
Very soon I'm hoping that I..

Can marry your daughter
And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me 'till the day that I die, yeah
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
Can't wait to smile
When she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

She's been hearing for steps
Since the day that we met (I'm scared to death to think of what would happen if she ever left)
So don't you ever worry about me ever treating her bad
I've got most of my vows done so far (So bring on the better or worse)
And 'till death do us part
There's no doubt in my mind
It's time
I'm ready to start
I swear to you with all of my heart..

I'm gonna marry your daughter
And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me 'till the day that I die, yeah
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can't wait to smile
As she walks down the isle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

The first time I saw her
I swear I knew that I say I do
I'm gonna marry your daughter
And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me 'till the day that I die
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can't wait to smile
As she walks down the isle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

"You and I" lyrics
by J.R.A. - by Chance

Hi.
Girl you just caught my eye
thought I should give it try
and get your name & your number
go grab some lunch & eat cucumbers
Why, did I say that?
I don't know why.
But you're smilin' and it's something' i like
on your face, yeah it suits you
girl we connect like we have bluetooth

I don't know why
I'm drawn to you
Could you be the other one so we'd equal two?
and this is all based on a lucky chance
that you would rather add then subtract

You and I
could be like sonny & cher
honey and bears
You and I
could be like aladdin & jasmine
let’s make it happen

La La's

Hey.
How've you been?
I know that it's been awhile.
Are you tired cause you've been on my mind
runnin' thousand and thousands of miles
Sorry, I know that line's outta style
but you
you look so beautiful on this starry night
loving the way the moonlight catches your eyes & your smile
I'm captivated
your beauty is timeless never outdated

I don't know why
I'm drawn to you
Could you be the other one so we'd equal two?
and this is all based on a lucky chance
that you would rather add then subtract

Babe
Its been 5 years since that special day
when I asked you on our first date
I guess it's safe to say

Let me say
you look beautiful on our wedding day

Stevie Wonder : "Superstition" Lyrics and Video

Stevie Wonder - Superstition

"Superstition" lyrics
by Stevie Wonder

Very superstitious, writing's on the wall,
Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past.

Ooo
When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way

Very superstitious, wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong,
You don't wanna save me, sad is my song.

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way, yeh, yeh.

Very superstitious, nothin' more to say,
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way, no, no, no
shut up!
"Superstition" is a popular song written, produced, arranged, and performed by Stevie Wonder for Motown Records in 1972, when Wonder was 22 years old. It was the lead single for Wonder's Talking Book album, and released in many countries. It reached number one in theUSA, and number one on the soul singles chart. Overseas, it peaked number eleven in the UK during February 1973. In November 2004, Rolling Stone ranked the song at #74 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The song deals with superstitions, and mentions several popular superstitious fables in its lyrics.
Wonder's music had been undergoing a marked change from his earlier fit with the Motown Sound to a more personal style. This shift had been evident on his two prior albums, Where I'm Coming From and Music of My Mind, but it was Talking Book and "Superstition" that brought the new style to the awareness of the public in general.
"Superstition" is immediately recognizable for its opening drum beat, which was performed by Wonder, complete with a noticeable bass-drum pedal squeak throughout the track. Its iconic funky clavinet riff was performed by Wonder, while the electronic Arp and Moogsynthesizer sounds were created by Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff. The song also features trumpet and saxophone, played respectively by Steve Madaio and Trevor Laurence. (source: Wikipedia)

Robin Gibb - "Juliet" live performance

Robin Gibb - Juliet music video

"Juliet" lyrics
by Robin Gibb

I steal the night away
drivin' my life away dancin'
I was a Romeo
I knew the art of romancin'.
I was just one of the guys and I thought I had it made.
I needed someone to show me
how to love.

Juliet
oh Juliet
the night was magic when we first met.
Juliet
oh Juliet
you know you taught me to fly.
You take me clear to the sky
and all the people around the world can
Stand aside
for me and my baby - Juliet.

Fighting with destiny
fortune and fame but kept losin'.
Playin' a joker's game
only myself I was foolin'.

I was an average guy in a world of empty dreams.
You've broken down all the walls
with your love.

Juliet
oh Juliet
this guy's in love with you don't forget.
Juliet
oh Juliet
you know you taught me to fly
you take me clear to the sky
And all the People around the world can stand aside.
Close your eyes
Juliet
don't let go.
On and on our love is like the sun
it keeps on goin' strong like eternity.
I wanna love you in my life
sweet Juliet.
Livin' without love in my life
my girl Juliet.

Juliet
oh Juliet
this guy's in love with you don't forget. . ..
Juliet
oh Juliet
this guy's in love with you don't forget. . ..
Juliet
I oh Juliet.
